ABSTRACT
My abstracts are generated by repeatedly transforming photographs until the image is very different from its origins. As a result of where they originate, they remain highly structured.
BOTANICALS
I was raised in the nursery industry. My PhD is on the physiology of trees. And I have been an ardent gardener my entire adult life. Thus, ornamental plants are dear to me and provide me with a wonderful basis for making art.

Landscape
My landscapes are surreal or impressionist. My interest in using my system to produce impressionist art comes from Monet being my favorite artist. My attraction to surreal art naturally emerges from my ability to rearrange components of the photographs.
Still life
Many of my still lifes derive from beautiful silk flower arrangements that my mother did towards the end of her life.
Pro Solar
As a physical scientist and father of young adults, I am deeply concerned about the deterioration of our climate and the necessity to stop using fossil fuels. As a result, I have done some pieces that I interpret as Pro Solar.
